Revolution

Revolution, in the “Siggy Space” basement of The Flea Theatre, drops us into the back alley of mall behind a hair salon and down the street from a Rainforest Cafe that acts as a Garden of Eden our characters yearn for. Puff (Clarissa Thibeaux) is reluctantly celebrating her 26th birthday with best friend and coworker Jame (Anne Basse), when Georgia (Natalie West) passes by from her shift at Dress for Less. The unlikely friendship that forms is as messy as it is hilarious, showcasing the need for real world connection, born out of necessity and happenstance.

Natalie West’s performance as the zany, idiosyncratic Georgia kept the surprises coming with every line. She is hilarious and heartbreaking. Puff and Jame’s friendship was a beautiful exploration of mid twenties anxieties in a post-pandemic landscape. The direction, helmed by Rebecca Harris, dropped the audience right into this blossoming female friendship. Brett Neveu’s  script celebrates female friendship and community in the strangest of circumstances. Revolution is the perfect show to enjoy with friends and strangers over a bottle of Miller High Life.
